The root cause of depression is the presence of bad habits and the absence of good habits. Soil helps you develop good habits and break bad ones with the help of something called mental strength.
Soil has two main ingredients.
The first ingredient is called attacks. An attack is an urge to give in to a bad habit that you need to build mental strength against. Each time it hits, you start a stopwatch and hold out until you give in or the urge passes, timing how long your defense lasts.
The second ingredient is called levels. Each level is a set of workouts that strengthen your defense between attacks. Like the gym, progress is slow at first, but after enough levels, your defense starts outlasting every attack, and since attacks never last forever, bad habits stop running your life in favor of good ones.
